OUR VINEYARDS

The vineyards and the winery are located in Corral de Almaguer, Toledo, a privileged site 750 meters above sea level surrounded by Mediterranean oak forests.

All our local grape varieties are bush planted whereas the foreign ones are trellis conducted. We currently count with the following hectares of vineyard:

Pago del Aguila
15 Ha bush planted Tempranillo (ungrafted/PIE-FRANCO).Age:35+.years
Pago Portillo
10 Ha
bush planted Tempranillo. Age:20 years
Pago La Senda 15 Ha trellis conducted Merlot. Age:7 years
10 Ha Monastrell bush planted at 900m above sea level
. Age:80 years

The continental climate, with pronounced changes in day-and-evening temperatures, boosts the unique personality of our land and enhances the quality of our vines.

The clay-limestone soils, the altitude in which the vineyards are located, the artisanal grape harvesting and the fermentation process, totally natural, are all key elements that provide quality to our wines.

All our vines are grown under sustainable growing methods, only using natural products in our land.

The grape harvesting is completely artisanal. Grapes are harvested manually during the first week of September in absence of rainfall.

Once in the winery, the grapes are hand-sorted before introducing them in the fermentation tanks. The fermentation process is conducted in 10.000 litre stainless steel tanks. Only gravity is used to move the wine to the 300 litre American and French oak barrels which are replaced every three years.
